Mike Morrill was born and raised in Southern California, Poway to be exact. He was introduced to the water at a very young age and quickly fell in love with swimming and surfing and participating in the Jr. Lifeguard program. You could always find Mike in the water.
As a student at Poway High School he took his love of the water to the next level. Competing. He competed in swimming and water polo earning All-American Honors. After high school, he went on to compete at the college level at Grossmont College in water polo and then on the Junior National Level for the United States. Upon graduating Mike decided he wanted to utilize his love of the water and teaching children. He spent the next several years teaching swimming and coaching water polo throughout the San Diego area.
Now with fifteen years teaching experience in many different realms Mike has developed a style all his own. He and his wife, Karyn, have opened the doors to Floaties Swim School with the hopes to introduce swimming to as many little fish as possible. “Living in San Diego there really is no reason every child shouldn’t know how to swim. Some of my most rewarding memories are of the water."
Over the years he has developed countless friendships and bonded with hundreds of families and children. His reputation for enforcing discipline but having fun with the children has continued to grow throughout San Diego. Mike is considered one of the best in his field.
